I am a good schedule of drinking the water.  Ron is staying in touch to keep me supplied.  I am a good habit of drinking water daily.  I will be traveling for two week at the end of this week.  I have always been a morning person but I feel more focused than usual in the mornings since I have been drinking water.  Traveling is tough since I am in an airport or airplane for 8 hours flying out West.  It has been a good habit to drink water and cut out other liquids.  I hope to maintain while I travel.

Jeremy- It’s a Long Road Ahead

By Beth · Comments (0)

Two weeks ago we went out of town and things have been crazy ever since. I expected Jeremy to have some trouble adjusting being away from home, but I didn’t have any clue that it would take so much time to get back on track. Jeremy has always had trouble when his daily routine changes, but I was hoping with all of his improvements, he would be okay. Unfortunately, I allowed Jeremy to have more sugar than at home (something we had been keeping to a minimum) and he is now out of control. We returned home one week ago and he still seems to be bouncing off the walls. One thing is for sure I will never make that mistake again.

Before leaving I made sure we had plenty of Kangen Water with us and he did not drink anything else. Of course the Kangen Water is best within the first few days, but it is still cleaner than any other water I could give him. While I don’t think drinking the water has helped with his behavior, it certainly seems to be helping his brain. Jeremy’s words are flowing with very little trouble and he easily moves from one thought to another. Jeremy has always had a problem with his language and he often repeats the same thing over and over. He has also started drawing new pictures and in the past the only thing he would attempt to draw was a person or a robot. (Most of his pictures looked extremely similar.) Jeremy has also begun telling stories and is able to use his imagination more than he ever has in the past. I am thrilled with the new creativity and I never thought he had it in him. It is like a door has opened and everything that was stuck inside is finally coming out.

Jeremy has his first day of school tomorrow and I am very nervous. He will be going to a new school this year and he will be repeating kindergarten. Last year his behavior and inability to focus held him back. I am hopeful the changes over the summer will help him accomplish the things that were out of reach last year.

Jeremy’s improvements are always exciting. Slow and steady is the key to his success. He has come so far over the last month and a half, but he is not there yet. I have definitely learned my lesson about the sugar and it is back down to a minimal amount. (I can’t quite figure out how to get rid of it completely, especially with him being a picky eater.) I just hope he will get back to the calm he was before the trip so he can have the wonderful year in kindergarten he deserves!!

Vacation…..

By Angie · Comments (1)

So after lossing 4lbs last week……I went on vacation and I think I may have been a little more confident then I should have been.  I found it really difficult to stick to my routine.  It was hard between the actually traveling on the road, staying at friend’s houses and just out and about a lot.  It was hard finding heatlh options, I did the best I thought I could do and the results…….2lbs GAINED!!  Ughhh……it is scary how easy it is to put the weight back on and how hard it can be to take it off!  Good news is I have had great encouragement from Tiffany and I am back on track this week.  I decided even though my 28-day challenge has ended I am going to continue my challenge b/c I have set a goal for myself and I am determined to achieve it!  I know there will be challenges along the way but my goal is to be down to 150 by September 30th……it is possible.  It will be work but what in life is not?!?

My energy level have been higher in the morning and I look forward to drinking the water.  It has made me aware of how much diet sodas I had been consuming.  Since I work from home, I take short breaks to get something to drink and a snack.  I look forward to the water and challenge myself to drink my allotment by the afternoon.  I am more hydrated since I am conscious of drinking the water.  At times when I was busy I was forgetting to drink and would get de-hydrated.

Another Great Week!

By LeAnne · Comments (0)

It’s amazing … keeping focus on a goal really does make a difference.  This week has been great!  I decided that even though I was meeting with Tiffany, eating dinners from the Whole Foods program, and drinking Kagan water, I was still not committed to creating a heathy life for myself.  Over the past two weeks, I had changed my mind set — started visualizing my end goal and guess what?  I lost 3.6 lbs.  Now I am on fire — headed to the gym every day and really thinking about what I am eating — no more “little bites” of fatty foods.  I can no longer get in the way of my own success.  Weighing in Monday and really believe I will have lost at least 2 more.  I will keep you posted.

WHAT IS CANDIDA?

GENERAL TIPS FOR HEALTH

WHAT IS CANDIDA?

Tiffany Jackson, ND has been helping people with candida overgrowth for over 5 years. Contact her for more info@ecohealthwellness.com

Candida is an overgrowth in the body of the yeast candida albicans. Although this overgrowth begins in the intestines, it can frequently spread elsewhere in the body, creating what is known as ’systemic candidiasis’ or ‘candida syndrome’. This yeast, natural to our bodies in health, become pathological when it changes into its fungal form, sprouting roots that perforate the gut walls and carry the overgrowth to the rest of the body. This produces what is known as ‘leaky gut’ and allows toxins to enter the bloodstream, overloading the immune system and causing a wide variety of symptoms.

MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS OF CANDIDA

Food allergies; irritable bowel syndrome: diarrhoea, constipation, bloating and stomach cramps; many gynaecological problems: repetitive yeast infections (thrush: discharge and itching), glandular inflammation e.g. bartolino glands, cysts and endometriosis; cystitis and kidney infections; skin problems: eczema, seborrhoea, psoriasis, acne, nail fungal infections, athlete’s foot; respiratory problems: asthma, bronchitis; food and drink disorders: alcoholism, bulimia. Depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, headaches, neuralgia, loss of memory, ear problems, thyroid problems, muscular and joint pains.

WHAT CAUSES CANDIDA?

Most therapists and sufferers of candida consider antibiotics to be the main cause. However, there are other contributory factors such as: the contraceptive pill or HRT (hormonal replacement therapy) including ‘natural’ progesterone cream, corticosteroids (hydrocortisone etc.), hormonal changes (puberty, pregnancy, sterilisation, menopause), dental mercury amalgam poisoning, chemical poisoning from the home, office or environment, e.g. farms, chemical factories etc., recreational drugs and stress (contributory factor). Kangen Water Day 10

By Rob · Comments (0)

Getting into a routine and looking forward to drinking the water.  The water tastes good.  My energy level has been good since I have been drinking the water and cutting out diet sodas.

It is hard to believe that my 28-day challenge is almost to it’s end! I am excited to report that I am 8lbs lighter and feeling awesome!! Most of my sweet cravings are gone…..I will not lie…..I have been dreaming about pasta! I guess the good thing is that as time goes on I can start to incorporate some back into my diet……oh course with moderation! I do not want to end up gaining back all the hard work I have done and believe me through other diet regiments I have tried it is easy to do. Last full week of the challenge but of course the challenge will continue…….

A new study from Perth’s Telethon Institute for Child Health Research shows an association between ADHD and a ‘Western-style’ diet in adolescents.

The research findings have just been published online in the international Journal of Attention Disorders.

Leader of Nutrition studies at the Institute, Associate Professor Wendy Oddy, said the study examined the dietary patterns of 1800 adolescents from the long-term Raine Study and classified diets into ‘Healthy’ or ‘Western’ patterns.

“We found a diet high in the Western pattern of foods was associated with more than double the risk of having an ADHD diagnosis compared with a diet low in the Western pattern, after adjusting for numerous other social and family influences,” Dr Oddy said. Read More→
