Jim’s water challenge

Posted by: Jim | Comments (0)

Two weeks have past since I stopped drinking a gallon of Kangen water a day. I stopped drinking the water because I was on vacation. The purpose of this blog is to describe any changes I felt during this period as a result of going off Kangen water.

Just like when I was drinking the water, it is really hard to say if not drinking the Kangen water is directly responsible for any significant changes. However what I can say is:

·         I found my training to be more difficult than usual during my vacation. It was hot and humid but no more than I am used to.

·        I didn’t notice any changes in my digestive system which was less active when I was drinking the water. It will be interesting to see if this changes in the coming weeks.

·        My arthritic big toes have been more painful than usual but this could be because I spent more time on my feet while on vacation. Again it will be interesting to see if they settle down.

I will be very curious to see what changes occur as I continue with “normal” tap and bottled water! I will let you know in a couple of weeks.

Jim – Day 20 of my Water Challenge

Posted by: Jim | Comments (0)

Day 20 of drinking a gallon of water a day. It is really hard to say if the Kangen water is directly responsible for any significant changes. However what I can say is:

  • I am definitely more hydrated than before and this helps with my training as I exercise early in the morning to minimize the effects of the heat and humidity.
  • My digestive system is less active than before and the water probably helps neutralize acid.
  • No changes with my arthritic big toes. Unfortunately the damage is already done!
  • My training is going quite well despite the weather conditions. It is very difficult to attribute this to the water though it probably helps!

I am going on vacation tomorrow and so will have to stop the test as water runs out. To be honest, I am pleased to not have to think drinking that much water  on vacation, but I will be very curious to see what changes occur when I revert to “normal” tap and bottled water!

I will let you know when I get back.

Day 9 of Jim’s Water Challenge

Posted by: Jim | Comments (0)

Day 9 of drinking a gallon of water a day. I still feel it may be a bit early yet to report any significant changes that I can directly attribute to the Kangen water but I have noticed a few things:

1. I am definitely more hydrated which has to be good though I need to drink more in the early part of the day so I can drink less in the evening. This will reduce the number of bathroom visits at night which will also help my sleep. This should also help with my training as I exercise early in the morning [usually between 6:00am and 8:00am].

2. Thankfully the mild headaches I reported in my last blog have stopped

3. I feel my digestive system is less active than before and the water may be helping here. I am going out to a Japanese restaurant tonight for dinner so that will be a good test!

4. No real change to report with my arthritic big toes. Did a speed workout today and as usual they were sore at the end.

5. My speed workout went very well this morning. Now it was cooler and there is no doubt that was a factor but maybe the water is helping?

I will let you know how things develop in a few days

Day 4 of drinking a gallon of water. Probably a bit early yet to report any significant changes that I can directly attribute to the Kangen water but I have noticed a few things:

1. I am definitely drinking more water than I was and therefore am more hydrated. The downside here is I need to go to the bathroom more and this can be annoying at night.

2. I have had mild headaches every afternoon since I started which I presume is a detox effect.

3. My weight was 172 lbs after a 7 mile run this morning. It was very humid and I sweated a lot [as usual] but that is the lowest weight I can remember for many years.

4. I sometimes suffer from indigestion after dinner [depends on what I eat]; this has not been an issue for last 4 days

5. No change to report with my arthrtic big toes.

6. I started feeling a tight hamstring a few days ago [before I started taking water] so I have been careful with it. I think this is related to hydration so it will be interesting to see how it is tomorrow. I have a track workout scheduled for 7:00am.

I will let you know how each of these develop in a few days.

Jim’s Change your Water Challenge!

Posted by: Jim | Comments (0)

As president of TrySports [Towncenter, Mount Pleasant], I am particularly interested in products which can have a beneficial impact on health and fitness. I am in fairly good shape for 55 [weight 175 lbs] and I exercise for about an hour a day, 6 times a week [mostly running]. However wear and tear has taken its toll on my body and I have osteo-arthritis in both big toes [caused by running injuries]. I can be pretty stiff and sore after a workout, despite stretching and tryin to stay hydrated. So I will be very interested to see if Kangen Water helps me.

I started taking the water today but I think it is too early to expect any benefits. So look out for my next blog in a few days when I will let you know how I am getting on.
