Danger in Expired Cake Mixes- Who Knew?
Posted by: | CommentsI always thought that “old” mixes that were past their expiration date would just not rise/bake correctly. This is scary! Note that it’s confirmed on Snopes.
Somebody wrote:
Before my surgery I bought quite a few Duncan Hines cakes mixes that were on sale. A couple of months ago I decide to use one, I checked the expiration date and found it past, all the boxes were passed the expiration date. I phoned Duncan Hines to ask if the one that was only two months passed if it was OK. She told me in no uncertain words to throw them all out, she even said to open the boxes and throw the mix in the garbage, just in case someone picked it up and used it.
According to Snopes:
This is confirmed on Snopes http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/pancake.asp
A student at HBHS (high school) had pancakes this week and it almost became fatal. His Mom (registered nurse) made him pancakes, dropped him off at school and headed to play tennis. She never takes her cell phone on the court but did this time and her son called to say he was having trouble breathing. She told him to go to the nurse immediately and proceeded to call school and alert the nurse. The nurse called the paramedics and they were there in 3 minutes and worked on the boy all the way to the hospital. He came so close to dying. Evidently this is more common then I ever knew. Check the expiration dates on packages like pancakes and cake mixes that have yeast which over time develop spores. Apparently, the mold that forms in old mixes can be toxic! Throw away ALL OUTDATED pancake mix, brownie mixes, Bisquick, cake & cookie mixes, etc., you have in your home.
Tell this to your children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and anyone else who keeps these types of mixes in the cupboard.

Acid-Alkaline Balancing
Posted by: | Comments
Today it’s harder than ever to be healthy but Kangen water can help!
Having high levels of acidity in your body can be a contributing factor for many illnesses – everything from obesity and high blood pressure to diabetes and even cancer. Unfortunately, now more than ever, we are living in an environment that is very conducive to unhealthy living. Processed foods and beverages, pollution, and stress are extremely prevalent and all lead to increased acidity that damages our bodies.
Proper pH levels are the key to healthy blood.
Creating a balance between acid and alkaline levels in the body is critical. Our bodies require stable pH conditions in order for the blood to effectively transport needed nutrients to every part of the body, including the skin and internal organs. If this doesn’t happen, then diseases will begin to thrive.
• Do you eat a diet full of non-organic foods?
• Do you often consume sugary and/or caffeinated drinks?
• Do you ever feel overwhelmed in your personal/professional life?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then you are susceptible to high levels of acidity that could be having long-term negative effects on your body. There is a way to help counteract this though. Drink Kangen water!
Kangen Water also serves as a powerful antioxidant!
After time passes on a peeled apple, it begins to turn brown when exposed to the air. This illustrates the process of oxidation. This same type of thing can also occur in the human body. We know it as the aging process.
Luckily, Kangen water acts as a potent antioxidant that can help prevent and reverse this effect. It can help keep your organs healthy, aids in the prevention of disease, and assists in slowing down the aging process.
Beverage ORP Acidic/Alkaline
(oxidation reduction potential)
Sodas +400 Acid
Bottled water +200 to +300 Acid
Tap water +200 to +300 Acid
Green tea -40 to +100 Neutral
Kangen water -400 to -800 Alkaline
As you can see Kangen Water far surpasses the others in quality. Using the incredible Kangen Water System can give your body the pH balance and antioxidants it needs to be at optimal health. It’s your best choice for fighting illness, aging, obesity, and more.
Are you ready to change your water, change your life?
The Kangen Water System uses the high-tech process of electrolysis to restructure your highly acidic tap water and transform it into alkalized, ionized water. Most people can even taste the dramatic difference with just their first sip of Kangen water.

Could you have candida?

CAN CANDIDA LEAD TO MORE SERIOUS ILLNESSES?
GENERAL TIPS FOR HEALTH
WHAT IS CANDIDA?
Tiffany Jackson, ND has been helping people with candida overgrowth for over 5 years. Contact her for more info@ecohealthwellness.com
Candida is an overgrowth in the body of the yeast candida albicans. Although this overgrowth begins in the intestines, it can frequently spread elsewhere in the body, creating what is known as ’systemic candidiasis’ or ‘candida syndrome’. This yeast, natural to our bodies in health, become pathological when it changes into its fungal form, sprouting roots that perforate the gut walls and carry the overgrowth to the rest of the body. This produces what is known as ‘leaky gut’ and allows toxins to enter the bloodstream, overloading the immune system and causing a wide variety of symptoms.
MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS OF CANDIDA
Food allergies; irritable bowel syndrome: diarrhoea, constipation, bloating and stomach cramps; many gynaecological problems: repetitive yeast infections (thrush: discharge and itching), glandular inflammation e.g. bartolino glands, cysts and endometriosis; cystitis and kidney infections; skin problems: eczema, seborrhoea, psoriasis, acne, nail fungal infections, athlete’s foot; respiratory problems: asthma, bronchitis; food and drink disorders: alcoholism, bulimia. Depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, headaches, neuralgia, loss of memory, ear problems, thyroid problems, muscular and joint pains.
WHAT CAUSES CANDIDA?
Most therapists and sufferers of candida consider antibiotics to be the main cause. However, there are other contributory factors such as: the contraceptive pill or HRT (hormonal replacement therapy) including ‘natural’ progesterone cream, corticosteroids (hydrocortisone etc.), hormonal changes (puberty, pregnancy, sterilisation, menopause), dental mercury amalgam poisoning, chemical poisoning from the home, office or environment, e.g. farms, chemical factories etc., recreational drugs and stress (contributory factor). Western diet link to ADHD
Posted by: | CommentsA new study from Perth’s Telethon Institute for Child Health Research shows an association between ADHD and a ‘Western-style’ diet in adolescents.
The research findings have just been published online in the international Journal of Attention Disorders.
Leader of Nutrition studies at the Institute, Associate Professor Wendy Oddy, said the study examined the dietary patterns of 1800 adolescents from the long-term Raine Study and classified diets into ‘Healthy’ or ‘Western’ patterns.
“We found a diet high in the Western pattern of foods was associated with more than double the risk of having an ADHD diagnosis compared with a diet low in the Western pattern, after adjusting for numerous other social and family influences,” Dr Oddy said. Read More→
Is Autism a Vitamin D Deficiency Disorder?
Posted by: | CommentsA group of 70 autistic children (average age of five years old) was compared to a similarly aged group of 42 non-autistic kids in the same socioeconomic status. Children with autism has significantly lower levels of both Vitamin D and calcium compared to the control group. In a similar study, lipid profiles of autistic boys showed that autism was associated with high triglycerides compared to a non-autistic control group, suggesting the presence of dyslipidemia in boys with autism. Prescription: More sun
Posted by: | CommentsResearch suggests that a lack of sunlight could be tied to variety of illnesses
Gene Stubbs will admit that just a few years ago he might have laughed at the very
research he’s now involved in. He might have thought the theory he’s been testing would have been better suited for zealots desperate for a simple explanation where none existed.
Here’s the theory: Autism might be caused by mothers not getting enough sunlight or Vitamin D supplementation during their pregnancies.
Now, Stubbs isn’t a parent of an autistic child grasping at straws. He’s a respected associate professor emeritus of psychiatry and pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University who has turned into a researcher in his retirement. And he’s well aware that plenty of people have claimed to know why autism rates have skyrocketed in recent years, and that most of their explanations had little to do with hard science. Read More→

Electrolyzed water cleans, degreases – and treats athlete’s foot. The solution is replacing toxic chemicals.
L.A. Times News
By Marla Dickerson
It’s a kitchen degreaser. It’s a window cleaner. It kills athlete’s foot. Oh, and you can drink it. Sounds like the old “Saturday Night Live” gag for Shimmer, the faux floor polish plugged by Gilda Radner. But the elixir is real. It has been approved by U.S regulators. And it’s starting
to replace the toxic chemicals Americans use at home and on the job.
The stuff is a simple mixture of table salt and tap water whose ions have been scrambled with an electric current. Researchers have dubbed it electrolyzed water – hardly as catchy as Mr. Clean. But at the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica, some hotel workers are calling it el liquido milagroso – the miracle liquid. Read More→
